WOW!!! It is not often that I really stop and think about that! I am the owner of an Apron business that is growing larger every day. I go through spurts that have me so busy I think I need to hire more help. Then turn around and wonder if I am doing the right thing.
In February 2009 My sister in law and I went into a small mini cupcake shop. There I saw aprons for sale like many of the aprons that I have seeing all over the place. Not quite sure why, I asked the owner if she every bought her aprons local. She said no but would be interested in seeing what I had! Well that is how all of this started you see I had no aprons, but knew I could make them so much cuter. To the computer I went and so began my quest for the cutest 50’s style Aprons.
What I learned even impressed me. You have the Hostess, Half, Bib, Cobbler, Maid, Garden, Craft, Smock and Chef to name a few. I decided on the Bib and the Half Apron I then found some designs that I liked and to work I went.
Within four weeks I had designed and made 12 Aprons, six sold before I even made it back to the cupcake shop. I was amazed I talked to my daughters who all agreed that they would be willing to pitch in if needed so that I could turn this into a business, so I did!
One daughter does the cutting.
One does all the pre fabric prep.
One goes to school to get her degree. LOL!!!
I have aprons in three local shops, on Etsy, apronsbyjulie.com and a local craft market every Sunday I do a lot of custom Aprons. Local customers come over and pick their fabric and style I than sew it for them.
I’m very blessed to have a produce that is doing so well in such a short amount of time.
From here on out I will keep blogging about my experiences in running an Apron Business…

This was a give away on The Apron goddess blog site.
Hi!
It is a little nerve racking for me to do this (blogging) it is out of my element of comfort. But I told myself this was my year for change, to do things I would not or have never done. To step outside of my comfort zone and see just how much better I can be.
I started a business designing, sewing and selling Aprons. I have been making aprons since 1995 but to have strangers look at them critique them touch them, then buy them, love them and buy more what an emotional ride! I LOVE IT!!!
I signed up took lesson and got my motorcycle license, that was something WOW!!! What an experience. I have been a passenger for about ten plus years, never thought I would see the day I rode a bike myself in fact just last year I would have said no-way,
Now I can’t believe I did it. It was and still is an awesome experience.
I guess this little bit of information is a good start.
